Robyn is a self-taught contemporary artist and muralist based out of Edmonton, Alberta. Growing up as an avid camper, skier, and lover of the outdoors led her to pursue an education in Conservation Biology. Having experimented with visual art from a young age, Robyn has combined her passions to create the expressive works she produces. With mediums including oil, acrylic, aerosol, ink, and mixed media, her works feature natural elements, balancing cohesion and vibrance with an element of darkness.
With a reverence for the natural world, her work contains themes of animal physiology, botany, astronomy, human anatomy, and zoology. Using art and nature as forms of escapism, she explores coming to terms with loss and coping with trauma by immersing oneself in the outdoors. She is interested in natural relationships, life cycles, and the interconnectedness of life and death. Drawing a great deal of inspiration from nature, Robyn often brings art supplies with her on her outdoor adventures and sets up shop wherever she ends up.
